Services for the blind and visually impaired

Children’s Program

This program provides a certified teacher of the visually impaired (TVI) to work with children, ages 6-12, who are blind or visually impaired, and their families. The goal is to build on the skills learned in Early Intervention (improving self-sufficiency and independence; and maximize physical, emotional, mental, and social skills development) or to begin developing these skills in children who have recently developed visual impairment in order to address the Public Schools Expanded Core Curriculum; Better prepare students for pre-employment transition services; and Assist students with independent living and social skills development to be more successful in all aspects of their lives.
